Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is STEMSKI?

STEMSKI is a growing community that brings together people working or studying in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths through unforgettable winter trips and informal networking. From the mountains to the meeting rooms, we’re all about breaking down barriers and building meaningful connections.

Anyone with an interest in STEM is welcome. While our events are designed with STEM professionals in mind, we love bringing together people from a mixture of backgrounds, industries, and experience levels. Whether you’re deep in your career or just starting to explore the world of science and tech, you’ll find your place in the STEMSKI community.

4. Are flights included?

Flights are not organised, however return transfers from the airport will be. We are happy to help advise which flights to book.

5. Do I need to be a good skier or snowboarder?

Nope! All skill levels are welcome — including complete beginners. Working with our partner, WhiteRoad, enables us to offer lessons, equipment hire, and a chilled-out environment where the emphasis is on fun and community, not performance.

6. What’s STEMSKI’s mission and vision?

STEMSKI is all about helping you elevate your network. We’re here to create good vibes, great memories, and real connections between people working in STEM. No awkward conferences or stuffy networking events — just a shared love of the mountains, meeting new people, and having a good time while doing something a bit different. Behind it all is a simple mission: make it easier (and more fun) for STEM minds to connect, collaborate, and grow.

7. What’s included in a typical trip?

Trip packages usually include:

  • Accommodation
  • Lift pass
  • Social & networking events
  • Return airport transfers
  • 24/7 support team

Optional extras (like ski hire, meals, or coaching) may be available depending on the package. Full details will be available when trip sign-ups open.

8. Where and when is the next trip?

STEMSKI 2026 is currently in planning! Sign up to the mailing list to be the first to hear when dates and early-bird spots go live.

9. How can I get involved beyond just attending?

  • Become a STEMSKI Rep
  • Help with media, logistics, or outreach
  • Collaborate on future STEMSKI projects

10. Who runs STEMSKI?

STEMSKI was founded by Olli Crichard, who continues to lead the initiative and shape each year’s trip. Izaak Frost later joined to support the growth of the community, with a focus on outreach, partnerships, and communications.

The logistics and travel operations are managed by our trusted partner, WhiteRoad. Behind the scenes, a small group of volunteers also help to promote STEMSKI within their networks and keep the momentum going.

For more information, see our “STEMSKI Team” page.

11. Do I need a STEM degree or job to join?

Nope. If you’re involved in or passionate about STEM — you’ll fit right in. We welcome curious minds, whatever your background.

We also welcome any friends and family!

12. How much does it cost?

Trip pricing varies depending on the destination and package, but we always aim to keep things affordable and accessible. STEMSKI isn’t a big profit-driven organisation — we’re here to make epic trips happen and connect people in STEM.

13. Is STEMSKI just for UK residents?

Not at all. While we launched in the UK, we’re open to participants from across Europe (and beyond). If you can get to the mountains — you’re in.

14. How do I stay in the loop?

Easy — join the mailing list, follow us on Instagram, LinkedIn, or check our website for updates. You’ll be the first to hear when sign-ups go live or we’re recruiting reps.

15. I still have questions — how do I contact you?

Send us an email at info@stemski.co.uk or reach out on our socials. We’re friendly and always happy to chat.
